I have just recently read, "To Kill a Mockingbird," at first I thought this book would be boring, but I actually liked it. The Setting is the 1930's in Alabama. I found this sad, because many children had to work on farms instead of getting an education. Heck, a lot of them didn't even have shoes. What I found interesting about this book is that it takes place over the course of a few years (unlike most books that take place over a few weeks, months, and even days).
This story was also quite unique because it had a gradual plot. I think Harper Lee meant for the mystery to slowly expand over the course of several years. The story is also unique because even of an intense and suspensful myestry, it goes into small subjects (some larger than others) that make up the story like a puzzle at the end. It was not only small subjects that make up the story, but rich humor plays a huge part in it to. It is actually humor and play that begins the mystery, and I found that quite unique. This book actually may be one of the most suspensful and unique books I have ever read.
